Setting up a shot for Manor Boys
We will always remember Robin Williams for his awing sense of humor. He brought us years of laughter and joy by his wittiness projected through versatile roles. That being said, I find everyone’s dismayed reaction to his untimely death of less hilarity. I don’t mean to trivialize his demise or disrespect him, I’m just pointing out that over the next few days and possibly weeks, people will mourn his death through statuses and photos on various social networking sites, completely ignorant to the lives being lost in Palestine. Why is it that one death causes so much hysteria yet thousands don’t? I believe that we choose to be ignorant. We use people like the Kardashian’s to distract us from what really matters. I read more people discussing things like “I want a boyfriend” and temporary materials rather than Ebola, ISIS or that these weapons of mass destruction don’t discriminate against age or gender but surely race. I believe we as whole population have become sickly. Too afraid to point out the wrongdoers. Forgetting that people in power have been using it for corruption. But, you’re just going to continue scrolling down and go about your night as hell is being raised on the other side of the world. This isn’t me losing hope, this is me choosing to not be ignorant anymore. May Robin Williams rest in paradise along with all the innocent lives that have been lost.
